Jeffrey Schlager, DVM


Jeffrey Schlager, DVM was born in Mexico, Missouri and enjoyed working part-time for a veterinarian all through high school.  He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.  In 1987 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Agriculture and then graduated from the College of
Veterinary medicine in 1990.  He was awarded the Edgar F. Ebert Memorial Award in recognition of outstanding proficiency in large animal medicine and surgery.  He also received the Hill's Pet Products Senior Student Award for his clinical report on dietary management of animals.  After graduating, Dr. Schlager joined a small animal & equine practice in Pennsylvania where he practiced for three years.  In 1993, he decided to return to his home state of Missouri to join the staff at Gladstone Animal Clinic .  In 1996 Dr. Schlager became an owner when Dr. John Clifford retired.    Dr. Schlager is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Quarter Horse Club and the Appaloosa Horse Club.  Dr. Schlager has many horses, cows, a miniture donkey, miniture pony, two dogs and two cats.  He is married with five children.

Andrew Rambo, DVM

Dr. Rambo was born in Independence, Missouri and attended William Chrisman High School.  He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-professional Zoology in 1992 from Northwest Missouri State University.  Although he had a strong interest in wildlife biology, he decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.   He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.  Dr. Rambo is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  He has a strong interest in exotic animal medicine and is a past President of the Raptor Rehabilitation Program in Columbia, MO.  When not working, or moonlighting  part-time at the Animal Emergency Clinic, Dr. Rambo enjoys fiction and humor writing.  He is a current member of a Kansas City fiction writing group. He resides in Kansas City North and is married with twin daughters. 

Matt Richenburg, DVM

Dr. Richenburg was born in Wichita, Kansas.  He is a graduate of Peabody-Burns High School.  He received an Associate of Science Degree from Butler County Community College and a Bachelor of science from Kansas State University in Animal Science.  Dr. Richenburg received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Kansas State University in 1999.  He is currently a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association.  He enjoys fishing, raising cattle, traveling, and watching the Royals and the Chiefs.  He is married with three children.

Matthew Carr, DVM

Dr. Carr was born in Liberal, Kansas.  He attendeded Liberal High School.  Then went on to Kansas State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 2003.  Dr. Carr then attended the Kansas State University of Veterinary Medicine; he graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.  Most recently, Dr. Carr obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of Iowa.  Dr. Carr is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association.   Dr. Carr has a strong interest in exotic animals, including ferrets, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, and birds.  Behavior is also an interest of Dr. Carr's, and he strives to take time to ensure your pet is at ease during the visit.  Given Dr. Carr's background in public health, your visit is likely to include information on prevention of disease that can affect your pet as well as your family.  Dr. Carr currently resides in Kansas City, MO with his wife, two sons, dog Sophie and a gecko named Luke.

Larry Richards, DVM
 Dr. Larry Richards was born in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Wyandotte High School. He pursued his dream at Kansas State University and was involved in Phi Zeta Honor Society and Delta Chi Fraternity. Dr. Richards completed an internship in veterinary medicine at Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1973 and then graduated with his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1974.  He originally joined the staff of Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1974.  Dr. Richards works a part-time schedule so he can spend more time with his family.  He is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  He has been active in  Boy Scouts as a Troop Leader, AWANA leader.

Fun Facts: Dr. Richards enjoys reading, fishing, camping, hiking, model building, and traveling. He is married with two children and four grandsons.
